A bicycle in regular use should be serviced at least annually, and possibly more for high mileage and\/or adverse riding conditions.<br>A service typically takes 1-2 hours and includes the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Basic frame, wheel and parts clean.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full brake adjustment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full gear adjustment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spoke check, wheel true, rim, rotor, tyre check.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check and standard adjustment of bearing systems (wheels, bottom bracket, headset).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replacement of cables, inner tubes, tyres and parts where necessary, excluding anything considered a major repair. All spare parts are extra.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chain cleaned and lubricated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full check of all bolts\/fixings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tyres inflated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Spare parts not included in price.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Labour rate \u2013 \u00a312 per 1\/4 hour<\/strong><br>\u2013 I charge \u00a312 per quarter hour labour. I will typically quote a fixed price for jobs estimated to take longer than one hour, and this will be at a lower rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Safety Check &#8211; \u00a316<\/strong><br>&#8211; Does your child have a Bikeability course coming up at school? Have you just purchased a second-hand bike? Book a safety check to ensure the bicycle is safe to ride. Minor adjustments will be included and you will be provided with paperwork showing the safety checklist, pass\/fail result, and any advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Emergency call-outs (see rates below)<\/strong><br>\u2013 If you are on a ride and have a mechanical that leaves you stuck I will help if at all possible, but availability cannot be guaranteed. Please call\/message for availability. If you are within approximately 10-15 miles of Ellon I may be able to assist with an on-site repair.<br>Fee = workshop rate (\u00a348p\/h) + travel rate (\u00a324p\/h)+ \u00a35<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Inspection\/estimates &#8211; FREE<\/strong><br>\u2013 I am happy to inspect any bicycle and provide estimates free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Puncture Repair &#8211; \u00a316 (includes inner tube)<\/strong><br>\u2013 Punctures are normally dealt with by replacing the inner tube as patching cannot be guaranteed. Occasionally, an additional charge will be applied for unusual\/expensive inner tubes e.g. \u201cfat bikes\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Brake bleed &#8211; \u00a316 per brake<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Collection and Delivery &#8211; \u00a310 within Ellon, or immediate surrounding area.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Standard Service \u00a345\u2013 My standard service is what many high street shops refer to as a \u201csilver level\u201d service.
