I first started bicycle repair during my weekend/summer job at JRD Equipment in Ellon whilst studying Physics at the University of Aberdeen. I spent over a decade as a research scientist and engineer at the UK Ministry of Defence located in London, before moving back to Ellon and opening my own bicycle repair workshop.
I’ve been a keen cyclist since my teens and was completely car-free in London, relying on my bicycles for commuting, utility and leisure.
My own bike box currently contains a Cannondale Synapse road bike, a Whyte 901 mountain bike, a Ribble TT bike, a Giant Defy road bike, and my oldest, a Marin Fairfax hybrid. I can also sometimes be spotted using my bicycle trailer around Ellon, mostly when carrying the kit for Ellon parkrun, where I am the Event Director having launched it in 2015.
